Trichard123 0 Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 After Emby server auto-updated to V29 then v30, all TV media folders with seasons were no longer showing up in Emby WMC or Emby Theater. Plus DVD Animated Movies were no longer listed under the Movies listings, even though I deleted and added them several times. No changes were made to the network or security of the system. I uninstalled both Server (v30) and WMC version and started from scratch. I loaded JUST the Movies. There are 6 folders but no matter what the DVD animation will not list in Metadata Manager but does show as part of the Library. See Attached photos; logs included. I tried adding TV programs folder but Metadata Manager shows just the name but empty inside - no listings.
Luke 42085 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 hi @@Trichard123, please let us know if this is still an issue with the new 3.2.31 release. thanks !
Trichard123 0 Posted September 21, 2017 Author Posted September 21, 2017 Still had issues with my folders. What I had to do was remove the Gentry folders and merge all the TV show folders into one folder and list the EMBY Root menus as the gentry: TV DRAMA, TV SCI-FI, etc. This worked and so far no more problems. Just a lot of extra work on my end.
Luke 42085 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 So you're saying you had to setup a separate library for each genre folder? is that correct?
Trichard123 0 Posted September 21, 2017 Author Posted September 21, 2017 (edited) That is correct. Instead of having the Root Screen on Emby WMC saying "TV programs" and then the sub-topics of "Action", "Drama", "Documentaries", etc., I had to point to the sub-folders and make a separate library for each one; TV Action, TV Drama, TV Documentaries, etc. This is only with folders with Seasons and episodes (S01E01, etc). I never had any troubles until version 28 came out and version 30 still would not show the individual shows with individual seasons. Instead I had TV Programs with S01E01, S01E01, S01E01, S01E02,S01E02, etc with all the episodes listed as one folder from various TV shows. All were one big mash-up of shows. After I changed the library to point directly to the genre folder, then I could see the shows and their seasons with the properly named episode (metadata). The same holds true with Emby Theater. Luke 42085 Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Ok, that sounds like expected behavior, although there is another way you could have done it, which would be to add one single library and then add each genre to that library. you won't get the sub-folder structure but you could always use genre features in the interface.
Trichard123 0 Posted September 22, 2017 Author Posted September 22, 2017 (edited) Here is what I had: Let's say Drive E: had a Folder called TV Programs; within is several genre folders like Action & Drama, Horror and Thrillers, Variety & Comedy, Science & Documentaries. Then within each one was of course the shows and their folders with Seasons. When added to the Library, it didn't show up in the Metadata Manager and if it did, it either was blank on Emby WMC or the seasons were just all mixed together, or the shows were visible but no season folders, just 1 to 12 seasons all showing at one time. What I had to do is no longer set the Library to TV Programs, but to point to each of the genre folders instead and in some cases where there was a sub-genre (Stephen King Mini-series within Horror & Thrillers) I had to move all those folders up one lever to mix with the other shows and delete the sub-genre folder. It works but I have a lot to flip through to get to the right genre. The Movies on the other hand, I had no problems and all the genres are separated under "Movies".
