FlapjackJoe 1 Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Hi all, Just wondering if any of you have experienced this before... I use the "Missing Episodes" option to determine which tv episodes I don't have. However, it doesn't seem to show all missing episodes. For example, if I add a new series (with all episodes missing), it might show episodes 6 as missing, but it fails to report episodes 1 to 5. This is happening across multiple series, although some do display multiple missing episodes. I've tried re-scanning the media library a few times, but that didn't seem to work. Any idea if there's a setting I'm missing that would fix this issue (or any further info needed to get to the bottom of this)? Thanks, FJJ.
ebr 16187 Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Hi. We depend on data from the tvdb for this. Can you check on their site to see if they have information on the episodes you feel are missing?

Can you check on their site to see if they have information on the episodes you feel are missing? Yes, it does. For example, I recently added Midnight, Texas : http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=311904&seasonid=702555&lid=7 contains 10 episodes. It just shows Episode 6 as missing, although I don't have Episodes 2 to 5 either. When I click on the name of the tv show, then Season 1, it shows episode 1 (which I have) and episode 6 (since I have show missing episodes turned on). But no 2 to 5.
ebr 16187 Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Try giving it 24 hours or so. It is possible those items are only recently available and haven't been brought down to your system yet.

It is possible those items are only recently available and haven't been brought down to your system yet. I've actually had this issue for a few weeks, just logged it for the first time now. It's also across a number of different series. I think something's gotten corrupted on my side somehow...
Luke 42083 Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 For series that this is happening to, go through all your seasons and episodes using the emby metadata editor and make sure they all have season and episode numbers filled in.

Hi Luke, thanks for the response. The problem is, the only way I'll know which series this is happening to, is to go through them one by one, since the missing episodes functionality isn't working. If there's no more automated way of fixing this, I might just reinstall Emby and rebuild the library from scratch to see if that helps...
Luke 42083 Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 I might just reinstall Emby and rebuild the library from scratch to see if that helps... If you have pre-existing nfo files it might not actually help because the new installation will just read the same files again. What you could do is force refresh all metadata for your series library, using the individual library refresh feature in Emby library setup.

What you could do is force refresh all metadata for your series library, using the individual library refresh feature in Emby library setup. Just to confirm... What I did was go to Manage Server --> Library --> click on the three dots next to the Library name --> Scan Library --> Refresh mode: Replace all metadata --> Refresh. Then ran a full library scan, just in case. No change, a lot of missing episodes are not listed.
Luke 42083 Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Ok, i guess we have to circle back to post #6 then.
FlapjackJoe 1 Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 Ok, i guess we have to circle back to post #6 then. Hi there, when I go into the Metadata Manager and expand the series, the missing episodes don't appear there either.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) With options enabled in user preference and Library, it looks like you can only see/get future season/episodes in series/season level. Example from Series level, it is showing Season 6. Only have one episode in Season 1. And inside Season 6 show the upcoming seasons episode. No missing episode are currently shown anywhere. only unaired. Tested on current beta (3.2.30.1). Edited August 29, 2017 by Happy2Play 1
Luke 42083 Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Hi there, when I go into the Metadata Manager and expand the series, the missing episodes don't appear there either. I meant your existing episodes and seasons. If any single one is missing an episode or season number, then the server will not create any missing episodes for that series in order to avoid showing possible duplicates.

Hi Luke, that makes sense. I just checked about five of the series that are not showing missing episodes and all the seasons and existing episodes have correct series/episode numbers as expected.
FlapjackJoe 1 Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 I'm not sure if this is any use, but the only episodes appearing as missing are ones that came out in the last two days (i.e. this week). Episodes older that than do not appear (I'm sure they did previously)...
