From my test no it randomly selected tracks from all pages.  No different then selection shuffle on the library.

Hi. I have question regarding Instant Mix.

 

When you right click on the music library and select Instant Mix, what song does it use for the seed song? How is that different from just shuffling the whole library?

What are exactly those characteristics?

 

Shuffle: Take all the items contained within the item I just requested to shuffle, randomly sort them and play them.

 

Instant Mix: Take the characteristics of the item I selected and then search my entire library for items with the same characteristics, randomly sort them and play them.

 

Think of Instant Mix like a Pandora station that only uses your content.
