bigeyez 10 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 (edited) Hi I first would like to say that I like the app alot. It seems to work great with room for improvement but one issue that I have is that it is using too much memory (system kills all my background apps while emby running) and it uses alot battery (I generally remote control do not play on the app). I have a Samsung Note 4 so it is not a low level device, maybe not the highest grade nowadays but it has good amount of ram and 3200 battery. It also has Android 5.1 on it. I am not sure if there is a way to improve these aspects of the app. However it would be nice if these system resources hunger can be toned down abit. I realize the hardship of trying to target many platforms. I am thinking that right around %30 improvement on the battery and memory use would be great. Edited August 27, 2017 by bigeyez
Luke 42077 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Hi, yes we are working on improvements that should help with this, thanks. 1
bigeyez 10 Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) So I did an actual look at how much memory it is using. The Emby Android app on my Lollipop device is using around 450mb, now that is really high in my view. Such that the OS kills all my other apps pretty much. I hope that this number comes down at some point. thanks Edited August 29, 2017 by bigeyez
bigeyez 10 Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) I also loaded the web page in my browser on Android (Lightning), and that one was using about 550mb with Emby page open. So it is not the app that is sucking up the resources, it looks like the webapp itself is huge. I am not sure if the browser was able to loa a mobile or desktop version, not even sure if there is such distinction atm. Edited August 29, 2017 by bigeyez
darkassassin07 652 Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Out of curiosity: How does that compare to something like the netflix app/web page on android? (as a similar app that many ppl use)
