Multiple servers of the same server?

Hi

I am forwarding connections over ssh, so I need to add one more server to the mobile app, witht he same server. I already added was a local server but I want to connect it when I am outside using SSH forwarding. The issue seems to be that it only adds one server if the server is the same, regardless of the connection ip settings therefor one is overriding the other. So the local connection is 192.xx.xx.xx:8096 the forwarded one is localhost:8096 However because both leads to the same server , the app seems to not to give me an option to choose between these two.

Is there a way to create 2 different logins that leads to the same serve with the app? thanks

hi @@bigeyez, no, the app won't let you have two servers of the same one. If you pull up your emby server dashboard it will display your remote address. is that address correct?

Typically what happens is you connect to the app initially using either local or remote connection, then it will pull the info from the server so that next time you start the app it will try and determine on the fly which address to use. Thanks.

Hi

Well it seems like it is trying to be too smart about it. My emby server has no externel net connection, personally I am not interested in opening it to the public network so I use SSH forwarding to connect to it remotely.

I think I will duplicate the app and use that as a separate login app, which is not that bad of a solution.

What do you mean duplicate the app?

Well if you have rooted device, one can duplicate the apk  and reinstall it as a separate app, so that I can use that second app with the local forwarded ip. Their "data" will be separate as a result. It wont get updates naturally, so one has to do this everytime the app is updated in case he wants to keep it updated other wise it is not necessary.

Interesting, thanks. Yes I guess that will work.
