Live TV HDHomerun streams stuck open

I have not found a pattern yet,  I have been testing FireTV and Android TV devices as a cable box replacement, and I'm noticing after watching live tv the stream stays open.... Non stop streaming over my network to the server, but it doesn't appear to be going anywhere, not writing to a drive, not being transcoded...  It looks like the HDHomerun just keeps on sending.

I have not tested what happens when all tuners are in use...  Probably not record my shows lol...

This graph shows when I was watching tv last night around 7pm and I stopped around 10pm, but the stream kept going all night, then I started watching a second show in the morning around 7am... you can see the two streams streaming 4MB each.   I stopped the second stream about 20 mins later, yet it is still streaming, ffmpeg stopped running.  Maybe an HDHomerun issue on the new firmware?  Maybe kill signal to hdhomerun has changed?  I dont know...  Ill do some more testing to see what happens when all tuners are in use and I try to tune to stream...

Further testing, shows that only tuner 1 & 2 seem to be "hung up"  if I tune to the channels that are in use on these hung tuners emby streams them to the client just fine, when i change channels, an inactive tuner is selected and streams the new channel, when i exit, stop or close my client the tuner frees up like normal.  The issue seems to be with the first two hung tuners only...  I restarted emby using the dashboard and all tuners are now freed up... So this looks to be an emby issue, not stopping those streams.  FYI.   Let me know if you need more info.  Logs are quite huge.

Glad I am not alone...

I have the same problem. Two of my 4 tuner were stuck last night.  If I started playing the channel that the tuner were "stuck" streaming it would actually not open a new tuner connection (Remaining at 40Mbps). However stopping the playback would not return close the stream.  It seems Emby was still thinking the tuner was needed for other clients; but there was none.

Reproducing the problem is difficult. Working on it...

Hey @@Luke

In the line "Live stream 634bb141afe74aedb72b9916a95159d2_native_394647e027c341e7834aabea7701e1dd_df531e387187d74110786a1510f7bf48 consumer count is now 1"

Is there something that identify the tuner stream id? I'm trying to track down what open the tuner stream, then what re-used it, and finally what closed it.

The only time this happens for me, is when I close theater before I stop Live TV. Bit it's a know issue. An actually, I haven't tested it, lately. I should do that.

That is not normal...  I think that's also how I reproduced it a while back.  I'll re install it to see

This issue is killing me.

Why do you say it's a known issue?

I've just tried it.  The stream does stay open for a little while (few min) but does get closed.  So it's not quite it.

I do have a log where it was stuck open for hours. I'll send it to Luke.

Perfect,

Hopefully the tuner code can be made more robust.  I've seen problem where ffprobe or ffmpeg hangs too.

Until then, I'll schedule something to restart the server every night.

Thanks
