Error downloading Emby Theatre

Hey there

 

Thought I might check out Emby Theater since I'm mucking about with my HTPC today. I get an error when I run the setup.exe

 

 

I've attached the log file mentioned in this error to the post. From what I can tell, it's having trouble finding the application file.

I have just reinstalled theater few seconds ago and it is working so I would just try it again.

It was maybe a small network issue...

Hmmm, I just downloaded a new setup.exe and get the same error. Something here isn't working right. The referenced file this time was different, but the content was the same

And what do you get when you browse to that file (the http:/// URL) itself?

Do you use Internet Explorer?

 

Can you try the following? 

 

1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer by pressing Win+R, enter ‘iexplore’ and finally press enter

2. Go to ‘Tools’ Menu

3. Make sure to uncheck the mark at ‘Work Offline’

4. Execute the installer again

I usually use Chrome, but followed the steps you suggested. This PC has IE11 on it, and has no "Work Offline" option in the Tools menu. Checked all other menus and it doesn't appear anywhere.

I should mention I installed it successfully previously. Uninstalled and am trying to reinstall. Don't know if that makes a difference. Something left over from the uninstall perhaps?

That's indeed possible. 

But I found the previous steps on the internet (for the error message you got).

 

Maybe somebody else has an idea ?

Just tried again then. Downloaded a fresh setup file, and ran it. Same error.

Oh, looks like a found a solution.

 

Found the file Emby.Theater.Installer.exe in

 

AppData/Local/Apps/2.0/3Z5DAVY3.LRA/30QZQZT4.RLE/emby..tion_0526f36dafbe11ea_0003.0000_1e69bcf12473a7ba

 

Running that brought up the Download Emby Theatre windows, and it appears to have downloaded and installed.

 

Hopefully, it will function correctly and I can give it a try out.
