PenkethBoy 2068 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 This should bring a few people Emby's way https://www.plex.tv/about/privacy-policy-update-notice/
Randomacts 5 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Or at the very least those of us with dual lifetime subs will come back to check emby out again hah.
Tur0k 148 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Ugh, telemetry in order to give you more "personalized marketing junk...". With a side of "we promise to keep your stuff protected...) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
speechles 2055 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 (edited) @@Luke I believe there was a post retracted completely as if it had never existed. I remember an @@ebr post in this thread how emby is just collecting data concerning which apps are used to designate how to spend development time. Time goes where the people goes. It was this post thusly missing now. Apologies if this wasnt the case, but pretty sure is. Plex I assume is collecting data about what is watched , when it is watched, by who it is watched, and how long each app is open. They force you to use their equivalent of emby connect. Without internet access plex wont work. This is obviously done for marketing and advertising use when each user visits their forums, or any other plex property. They can directly market you advertisement based on your prior use of their platform. This is the nature of the beast. There is benevolent reasons to keep telemetry, and then there is surveillance. Plex is more skewed to survey your behavior while emby is doing it to adjust development time. I can understand the difference. Edited August 19, 2017 by speechles
