Question about scan library vs real time monitoring

What more does library scan do than real time monitoring? ... my question is basically ... Should my library scan run everyday if I have real time monitoring enabled? Thanks

Real time monitoring does the same scan as library scan. The reason for both is that for some people real-time monitoring is not possible or not desired
