Hi, I'm experiencing very slow browsing when I browse my photo's section. I have a lot of photo in there in multiple directory/layer.

I noticed that the memory usage of Chrome browser increase a lot. I also tried with Microsoft edge and it's another world. the browsing seems pretty good with no lag. I don't know if it's a problem with Chrome or Emby (with Chrome client). It is totally unusable on Chrome for photo.

Am I the only one in this situation?

Emby FREENAS 3.2.26

Thanks

My emby is crashing when browsing my photo library.

Does this happen to others?

Thanks

Hi Luke,

Here is two log (one using Chrome and other using Microsoft Edge).

When I use Chrome, it end up by being stuck in the photo directory I'm trying to load. I also noticed that the memory usage of Chrome climb to about 1.5 gig and suddenly at about 500m. it reclimb to 1.5 G and so on, until I close Chrome.

The photo library path I'm trying to load is like that:    PHOTO --> Directory1 --> Directory1.1 --> stuck here

More I go deeper in directory structure, slower it is.

Server version 3.2.26 on FreeNAS

N.B.: Please take note that the same behavior happen on emby for android. moreover, the Emby is totally crashing on emby android.

Do these photos have embedded orientation values?

Do these photos have embedded orientation values?

Hi Luke,

I guess some photo are reoriented correctly with windows photo editor (wife's job) after extracting them from my kodak (Canon sx610). I hope this is what you need? If not, how can I know if there is embeded orientation?

Thanks

There is an error trying to load an image magick module:

ImageMagickSharp.WandException: unable to load module `/usr/pbi/emby-amd64/lib/ImageMagick-6.9.0//modules-Q8/coders/jpeg.la': file not found @ error/module.c/OpenModule/1282
	  at ImageMagickSharp.WandCore`1[T].CheckErrorBool (System.Int32 status) [0x00009] in <256b1c1ea9f54fe39d5f58f7aa82a335>:0

If the server is failing to process images then that means it will be sending back the full original to the app, which might be too large for it to handle. You might be able to resolve this by installing libjpeg.

We will soon be dropping image magick anyway in favor of Skia.

Hi Luke,

Thanks for the feedback. Also thank you for spotting the problem. So, this could be more related about an installation problem on FREENAS version of server... Anyway, if this will be change, I will just wait for that to be updated.

THank you
