Unable to launch "media browser 3"

Hi

I get the error "Unable to launch "media browser 3"" when clicking on Podcasts in Media Browser 3 Classic ever since the new server update. I installed the new server update whilst listening to a podcast with Media Browser Classic still running. I have been using the latest Media Browser 3 Classic 129 for several days. Is this a common error, if not how do I fix it please?

Thank you for your help

Did you update the Podcasts plug-in on the server?

The Podcasts plugin is v1.0.1.1

What theme are you using?  If not already, try Chocolate.

Find the error in your Windows event log as detailed in the "How to report a problem" post and attach here.

Hopefully this is what you wanted, please let me know if not. I have been using Chocolate ever since you made it the default skin

Thanks again

And has the refresh Podcasts task on the server run successfully since you upgraded?

I tried that before first posting the problem, and I just tried it again, but the problem still occurs

I also had a similar problem. On the user selection screen within MBC WMC would state unable to launch program MB3. This occurred immediately after updating two plugins within MBC. MBC had been operating fine since the server update 129. Upon viewing the event log (attached) it was clear this was caused by Chocolate. Through the configurator I uninstalled chocolate, booted into MB3 successfully, and installed Choc from the configurator. A-OK now.

john - your problem is completely different.  You somehow had an incompatible version of chocolate installed.  You had MBC 129 but a version of chocolate designed for MBC 131.  Not sure how that happened...

And it reports that it ran successfully, right?

What do you see in the web client for podcasts?  Can you post screen shots?

I tried removing and reinstalling Chocolate, but this created further problems. Now MBC runs without a theme and I can't make it load with Chocolate. Also, I still get the error when opening Podcasts in MBC

That first item showing in the web client is the problem.  What is that?  It has no image, no title no nothing.  Remove it from your feeds.

Thank you for your help! I don't know why it suddenly went like that but removing it worked!

The offending podcast is http://www.abc.net.au/science/k2/podcast/drk_rss.xml

I can't re-add it  without getting the error back. I've only noticed the problem since updating Media Browser server.

I'm not sure whether it is the podcast that's causing the problem or whether it's Media Browser

Have you updated the Podcasts plug-in as well?

Posted

The plugins are all up to date. I have tried adding a different podcast and it worked, so there is a problem with that podcast or the way Media Browser on my PC sees it

I'm having the same issure. The recent update has made media browser unload-able.  I've installed classic with the latest update from the website but it still fails to load. I've attached my log file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Using the web client, try assigning images to any podcasts that don't appear to have any metadata.

It's only that one podcast that I have the problem with and it used to work fine. Adding an image to it doesn't fix it

Try updating to the dev release of MBC and see what happens.

It doesn't crash with the latest dev version, but where is the title, data and image?! It used to have all these like all podcasts seem to

When I updated the server I may have been listening to this podcast at the time (I can't remember which podcast I was listening to) without closing MBC, would that have had an effect?

Edit - just to clarify: in 1st paragraph I meant title, data and image of that particular podcast. The rest are fine

Try deleting that feed, save, let the scan run then re-add it and see what happens.

If by 'scan' you mean refresh podcasts, I've tried what you said with no luck

When I add that podcast I get an error that the xml feed has bad data.
