mrbrahman 0 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 (edited) I'm loving Emby everyday I use it, and slowly broadening my use cases :-) In Emby Photos, looks like the current functionality is to upload the photos and browse/view them. I didn't see any options to "search" etc using exif (at least the most used ones). Is that correct? Thank you! Edited August 10, 2017 by mrbrahman
ebr 16199 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Hi. Yes, that is something we would like to provide in the future. 1
mrbrahman 0 Posted August 10, 2017 Author Posted August 10, 2017 Great! Hope to see that soon... Right now I use the good old Picasa to add keywords (tags) and for facial recognition + tagging. However, Picasa does not have a good search feature. Hoping to use Emby for that!!
mrbrahman 0 Posted September 24, 2017 Author Posted September 24, 2017 Hello, Just to get some idea on this, is this something planned for the near future, and is there sort of a priority list of items/features that anyone has come up with? I'm sort of fed up of using my own scripts (without a GUI) for the extraction of metadata (using exiftool) and search feature (a small perl script I wrote), and wanted to get an idea if this is on the horizon or I should be thinking of building some crappy GUI solution on my own for now :-) Thank you!
maegibbons 1287 Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 I would say no time soon - create your GUI and show us. Krs Mark
mrbrahman 0 Posted December 11, 2017 Author Posted December 11, 2017 Can you please point to some documentation / notes on where/how photos meta-data is stored? I tried to look into the sqlite db files directly, but unable to decipher from there. Thanks!
