Luke 42077 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I dont want to be difficult, but its just my opinion when ebr said " It seems like having more and varied art is more important than the odd case where one is duplicated. " I feel 100% the same way. Thats how I feel, the server did an amazing job imo before, I just dont like the new method and liked how it was before, but if i am the odd person out here, I will have to deal with it. A setting that allows duplicates or how it was before would be perfect for me, but again if i am somehow on my own in this, I guess i will have to accept the changes. I just loved how if music/movies, got bigger over the months it would grab new backdrops automatically. And the odd duplicate did not bother me. And that's what job creation can solve because as part of the process it could wipe existing backdrops and get them fresh. It is not an occasional oddball duplicate. You will have duplicates all over the place and we're not going to have to have the sever behave like that, maybe with an option, but not by default. We've already been there and done that. Unless you want to be the one to handle all of the questions about why does the same backdrop get downloaded again and again.
Luke 42077 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Ebr we were recording urls but those change periodically and the the problem resurfaces. Danee that will result in hammering tmdb and the other sites because we won't know the size until we request the image. The reason this isn't a big deal is because the server is hands off with your library now. So there arw no duplicate rwfreahes taking place anyway. You would have to enable automatic updates for this to matter.
Luke 42077 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 This can he addressed through scheduled server jobs, such as replace my backdrops once a month. That is in the pipeline
Luke 42077 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Yes, the movies from "D:\VIDEOTECA\La Huella del Crimen" has not TMDB ID because doesn't exist in TMDB and I put the metadata by hand. (Are shows and TMDB doesn't support it) But do you see something in the log for the movie "The Nutcracker" that only fetch 1 backdrop when there are 4 available? In the most of my movies fetch 2 backdrops Yea it looks like it didn't even try, probably because there was one already there. I would need to see the log from when the nutcracker backdrop was downloaded. if you can't find that, try to see if you can recreate the issue with a new dummy movie.
Luke 42077 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 You should review the server log then to see what happened. It may have downloaded two then failed on the third
