amaga 4 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Hello For a couple of weeks now, the primary images for new episodes I add to my library don't display. Instead, the series' poster appears. Old episodes still display their primary images. In my setup, I disabled Emby from fetching photos because I like to add them myself. So I have the "Download artwork and metadata from internet" option disabled and the "Save artwork and metadata into media folders" option enabled. I don't save metadata in nfo files, only xml. My directory structure has a subfolder called metadata for each season folder with an xml and jpg file with the same name as the episode. For example: Game of Thrones - Season 07 - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01.mkv - metadata - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01.xml - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01.jpg Movies are displaying their images with no problem as well as seasons - only the episodes are having this problem. When I open Metadata manager, it indicates that the episode is missing its primary image. I'm running Emby Server 3.2.26.0. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks!
ebr 16187 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Hi. Please see: Server not reading MetaBrowser .xml anymore? Also, I'm not sure if the separate metadata folder may be considered legacy as well in the case of us not retrieving the images...
doddsie 10 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I can confirm this may be a problem. Clean install adding a folder with 6 movies in folders with no data apart from the movie inside. Emby downloads all the images but in the server there is no primary image Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

amaga 4 Posted August 10, 2017 Author Posted August 10, 2017 I've been reading a couple of threads and just want to clear things up before I start updating my library. If a separate metadata folder is legacy, I should move images to the seasons' folders. Also, I should migrate xml files no nfo. So in my previous example, my structure should go from: Game of Thrones - Season 07 - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01.mkv - metadata - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01.xml - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01.jpg To: Game of Thrones - Season 07 - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01.mkv - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01.nfo - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01-thumb.jpg Is this correct?
Luke 42083 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Correct although the contents of the xml and nfo files are different, so you can't just move and rename the xml file to where the nfo should go.
amaga 4 Posted August 16, 2017 Author Posted August 16, 2017 Hi Just finished updating the metadata for all my series. Now I'm using Kodi's file structure, for example: Game of Thrones - season07-banner.jpg - season07-poster.jpg - season07-fanart.jpg - /Season 07 - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01.mkv - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01.nfo - Game.of.Thrones.S07E01-thumb.jpg Episodes' images, metadata, backgrounds - everything is displaying fine, except that, for some series, the seasons' posters don't display and are marked as missing in Emby server's metadata editor. This only occurs with some series - around 20-30% of them. I've tried to find a pattern, but couldn't, since all series have the same file structure. Any ideas on how I can find out what's wrong? Thanks!
amaga 4 Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 Hi Luke Thanks for the help. I'm attaching two images - one of the folder structure for Breaking Bad and another showing that in metadata manager it says there is no season posters. Is there any log file I can view? This only happens in some shows, not all.
Luke 42083 Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 If you click on each season in the metadata manager, do they have a season number filled in?
amaga 4 Posted August 19, 2017 Author Posted August 19, 2017 That solved it Luke. Thanks! A suggestion for a feature is, when a tv show library is re-scanned, Emby could check the folder name to try to figure out the season number, if it is missing. That would prevent this from happening. Once again, thanks for the help.
