andersonrs45 3 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 (edited) Not all files with extension in mkv have this problem. Only a few. But this problem persists only in the Google Chrome browser. Edited August 7, 2017 by andersonrs45
Luke 42085 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Hi there @@andersonrs45, we're sorry to hear about this. Can you please discuss an example and attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue? thanks !
andersonrs45 3 Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Some audio tracks in mkv files are muted. Unfortunately, we can not hear it through Google Chrome. But when I try to play in Mozilla Firefox, both tracks work perfectly, in addition to the Emby application, which also works without proble. I posted a log file from my server, maybe this would help. Sorry for my English, I'm Brazilian and I'm using a translator. I posted a log file from my server, maybe this would help. Sorry for my English, I'm Brazilian and I'm using a translator.

Luke 42085 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Have you tried turning up the volume in case the sound just might be low? thanks.
andersonrs45 3 Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 (edited) You simply do not hear the sound in just one of the audio tracks in Google Chrome. For example: audio in English and audio in Portuguese in a movie. The track in Portuguese is not heard, only the track in English. andersonrs45 3 Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Note that this problem does not happen with all videos with mkv extension. In some, both audio tracks work in Google Chrome. So I think log files can help in this case.
mam693 0 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Team, I would also like to add that I am seeing this issue myself. It only seems to be affecting shows\movies that have been added recently. Older stuff that was in my library works fine. If I bump down the quality and force Emby to transcode, the audio works fine in Chrome. Just like andersonrs45, any other browser plays perfectly fine as a direct play. I attached my log file to this post. One of the events was at "2017-08-07 21:41:52.8591" when I started playing Rick and Morty - Pickle Rick. There were no transcoding logs as this was using direct play. As a note, I am running version 3.2.26.17 beta but this started happing without an upgrade...just out of the blue. Let me know if you need further logs. Thanks server-63637731629.txt

Thanks If it is actually direct playing with no ffmpeg involved then this is probably something that will need to be reported to Chrome. We're not going to have much control over that.
