Date on end of recording files

Hi, I am not 100% sure this is even Emby's fault (but I think it is).  At the end of each recording is the date is was recorded and a number if there were more than one recorded that day.  Is there a way to turn this off? MCE Buddy does not recognize the show because of the date on the end.

No, we need to ensure the file name will be indicative of what the program actually is. If there is no season/episode number information available, then we use the date.

I see, so this is likely due to not having enough data in the epg.

Correct. When there is enough data in the epg, then we use something better than the date timestamp.

Bert, were you able to figure out any work around for this? I use MceBuddy as well, and am having the same issue. For me once MCEBuddy does the conversion is creates a folder with the full file name instead of just the folder name. someone in the MCEBuddy forum suggested a regex to remove the date, but that's beyond my level of expertise.

Let me know if you've figured anything out.

I changed to schedules direct which contains the correct season and episode information.

Well Shoot! I'm already on Schedules Direct. I'm going look further into the MCEBuddy side. There has to be a way to omit the date in the title when it renames.

Somethings not right on your setup then I believe. My understanding is that EMBY is generating the date because there is not enough information it's getting from the guide. Specifically it's not finding season and episode information. I don't believe MCE Buddy has anything to do with it. It's simply using the date because Emby did. You can check by looking at the source files. Does this happen for all recordings or just some?

It's only some, and it does look like the data is missing season/episode information. Emby gets the folder name corrrect but once it's converted the date gets added to the folder name which causes the issue. I'll have to figure out why MCEBuddy isn't catching the shown name in the metadata and naming the folder accordingly.
