politby 88 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) After updating to the latest server version (3.0.5167.2231), a large percentage - I approximate about 20% - of my movies are no longer showing the primary image. Instead what is being shown is a backdrop. If I go into the detail view, the primary image is missing: In MBC, posters have been replaced with the generic movie reel. I have not done anything and I have no other metadata scrapers. Anyone else seeing this? Edited February 23, 2014 by politby
Luke 42078 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 do you have saving of local images enabled, and if so, are there are images in those directories?
politby 88 Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 When I first installed MBS I had a local folder.png file in every movie folder and local saving of images was disabled. I then enabled local image saving. For movies added after that, I have used the metadata editor to download posters. I was just about to go back and edit the post to add that those movies where the image has NOT disappeared are the ones where there is a local image, either an old folder.png or one saved by the metadata editor.
Luke 42078 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 yea it's hard to help unfortunately because you're on dev builds and have been exposed to bugs along the way. users on the public builds will be getting the finished product. so you might have to to some manual fix ups in the editor.
politby 88 Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 Ouch. Serves me right for trying out dev releases. Let's say I set it back to release or beta and do an update, will that cause a roll back or do I have to do it manually?
Triplefun 1 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Likewise, with the latest update ALL my Movie images are gone and some of my TV images. Triplefun 1 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Apologies for not being more considerate. I found my problem. Someone in my family had added a shortcut to one of the movies in the directory which stopped the scan. I had also restructured my media library. I am now regenerating all my images. I also note you have added a field which limits number of files in a directory (I can't find it now). I reset this from 100 to 500.
Triplefun 1 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I can't find it despite having gone through all options But somewhere I was prompted with what appeared to be 'number of images ?' With a range set to 100, 100-200, to a maximum of 500 ??? I had not seen this before and have not been able to find it since Although I note my server has just been auto updated
Luke 42078 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 do you mean max backdrops downloaded per item? that's the only thing i can think of.
Danee 57 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 This is probably a limit off what is shown on one page.
tacticalcity 12 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) I had a similar problem after an update. All the images for one of the movie folders, in this case the one containing Spy genre films, were automatically changed to background images instead of the posters I originally had them set to. So I am in the process of logging in and fixing them now. I have it set to only download official releases, not dev builds. Wish I could tell you which version caused this error. I have been living with it for a while. But the OPs post inspired me to look at the metadata manager to see if I could figure out the problem there, and did. Have a TON of movies in that folder. So this is gonna be a bear to fix. But at least I can. I appreciate the hard work that went into developing the software. Edited August 15, 2015 by tacticalcity
