Emby Server Version 3.2.26.0

I was messing around with a user I have had since the beginning (over a year ago).

First I gave that user a password and selected the blank pin option to not prompt internally for a password.

Went to my AndroidTV (Shield TV) device and there is a little lock next to my user

Choose user and password prompt pops up.  This form is buggy as hell and won't let you type anything in but I hit done and it logs me in.

Went to the Web App via FireFox, choose that user.  It prompts me for a password.  I just hit login and it logs me in

Please help or verify this is indeed a bug.  Do i need to post logs for this?

First, why do you think the password form is buggy? Can you please explain that a little more?

And yes, please provide the server log in relation to the prompting for password. thanks.

The on-screen keyboard on Android TV really sux but what do you mean by "won't let you type anything in"?

Also to clarify my quote above

"Choose user and password prompt pops up.  This form is buggy as hell and won't let you type anything in but I hit done and it logs me in."

The form should not even pop up as i had a blank pin.  Will take pictures of the keyboard tonight hopefully.

While we look into why the form is showing in the first place, can you answer this. Once it does show, what exactly makes it "buggy as hell"? Or was that your reaction due to the fact that it shouldn't be showing at all? Thanks.

tried to use remote to go to first character, hit ok button to select and it jumped to done. basically wouldn't let me type anything....buggy as hell  :P

Can you please show us a screenshot how you've setup the in-network pin? Everything in your log seems to look OK so right now we're unclear on why you're seeing the password screen. Thanks.

Not sure what's going on there but that is a standard Android TV component...

Further developments are that it looks like it is centered around 1 remote...my other work fine. So we just have 1 problem...why is password prompt even popping up on android tv. Thanks

Can you please see my previous post? Thanks.

Clearing data on the app is something to certainly try...

Probably just because it is automatically remembering your credentials.

If that lock icon is showing up in the interface, then the server is telling us that user has a password.  I think we probably need to circle back around and examine your settings for the user closely on the server.  Screenshots of the user setup screens would be best.  Thanks.

If you explicitly log out of the web app, and then try to sign back in, does the web app make you enter a password? thanks.

@@Luke - no the problem lies with the androidtv app it appears

I mean did you actually log out of the web app as opposed to just closing the browser?

You would need to click this button:

Also, I know this sounds silly but we cannot see the title bar in your screen shots so we are 100% sure we're looking at the same user in both apps, right?

lol yes

and yes it is the same user.

any other ideas?  tried my 2 other devices (asus nexus player) and they show the lock icon.  there is nothing cached on my shield that is causing the issue, it lies with that user.
