New episode not showing in Next Up

Hi,

When I add a new episode in a specific TV Show, this new episode is not showing in the Next Up listing.

When I add a new episode in other TV shows, it works fine.

Is there a way to fix this?

I'm using version Emby Server 3.2.26.0.

The problem was also present with 3.2.24.0.

Thanks

Can you please offer discussion of specific examples? Thanks.

Hello Luke,

I have more than 100 TV Shows with multiple seasons.

Currently, the only "active" shows are Dark Matter season 3 and Game of Thrones season 7.

Every weekend I add the weekly episodes of DM and GoT in their respective folders.

They get recognized by Emby server and all the metadata is properly downloaded.

The new episodes of DM and GoT appear in the Latest listing.

But only GoT appears in the Next Up listing.

A few weeks ago, in the Dark Matter season 3 page, episodes were doubled, i.e. 2 entries for each episode although there was only one folder and one mp4 per episode.
I ran a database clean up (option still available with 3.2.24.0) and it cleared the "phantom" episodes.
However, it didn't fix the Next Up problem.

I would check that the episodes in the series all have correct season and episode numbers.

Here is what I have under TV\Dark Matter\Season 3\

Dark Matter - 3x01 - Being Better Is So Much Harder.mp4

Dark Matter - 3x02 - It Doesn't Have to Be Like This.mp4

Dark Matter - 3x03 - Welcome to the Revolution.mp4

Dark Matter - 3x04 - All the Time in the World.mp4

Dark Matter - 3x05 - Give It Up, Princess.mp4

Dark Matter - 3x06 - One Last Card to Play.mp4

Dark Matter - 3x07 - Wish I Could Believe You.mp4

Dark Matter - 3x08 - Hot Chocolate.mp4

Dark Matter - 3x09 - Isn't That a Paradox.mp4

I have the same naming convention for GoT.

I also deselected the watch flag on all episodes and then reselected the watch flag one by one. This didn't fix the problem.

I also deleted the season 3 folder and recreated it, but didn't fix the problem.

I tried refresh, didn't work.

What else is there to do? Delete library.db and let it recreate itself?

If so, I'd like to retain the watched status for all users.

Also, under the TV\Dark Matter\Season 3 folder, there are the episode posters, the episode nfos and the season nfo files.

Using the editor functions in the web app, I would check that the episodes in the series all have correct season and episode numbers. If they are correct then the next thing to look at would be the sort title field for episodes. see if any of them have been customized.

Also, have you actually started watching Dark Matter?  It won't show in Next Up until you watch at least one episode.

Hello Luke,

Thanks the issue is fixed.

The first episode had a sort title.

I deleted it and the next episode shows in Next Up.

Thanks ebr for the reply.

I started watching Dark Matter.

Although, even if I hadn't started watching, since I watched season 1 and 2, the first episode of season 3 would be shown in Next Up.

Thanks, case closed.

Or if he hasn't watched anything at all, it would also show in Next Up along with the first episode of every other series in the library.
