timwagg 0 Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Hi, I've been trying to set up the alexa/emby plugin but have discovered an issue with regards to remotely accessing my server. I've changed the default port for both the LAN and WAN access to the same port, the firewall in windows and my router/port forwarding allows connections on this port (I've checked on 'canyouseeme'). But...the external address displaying on the emby dash ISN'T my actual IP. My ISP has a dynamic address and I use a DNS with a domain to ensure I can connect to my server but it seems emby isn't keeping up with the changing IPs. Is there a way to manually set the external IP as a domain which I know works? Thanks!
Solution d00zah 149 Posted July 30, 2017 Solution Posted July 30, 2017 You can set your external domain on the same page where you define port #s... http://localhost:8096/web/dashboardhosting.html "External Domain: If you have a dynamic DNS enter it here. Emby apps will use it when connecting remotely. This field is required when used with a custom ssl certificate." 1
