vaise 340 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Hi, I am adding a TV in the garage for the kids, and I have run out of roku players, so got a cheap andrioid TV box off ebay, replaced kodi with jarvis. Installed the emby repo thing. I guess I am just used to the simplicity of a roku and the emby app - that is what I am wanting to replicate here. Absolutely nothing else with this machine. I want to make it as identical to Emby, which seems difficult, if its possible at all. My current question is that I set it up as myself, but now want to change the user to someone else. Cant find out how to do that ? Next issue, I cant seem to play any video's from my library, I click on them, get spinning thing, and a message saying video cant be played. All fine on all 6 roku players. I can understand the attraction of people to these all singing , all dancing multi use android TV boxes, but I just want something simple to replicate the emby app on a roku - no-one in my house will use it in its current guise at all..... I have remove from the menu everything that can be. Anyone able to offer any help ? Thanks.
Angelblue05 4132 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) Emby for Kodi probably won't fit your needs. The way it works is fully integrate Emby into Kodi. This means, you'll need to create a Kodi profile for each Emby user you want to add, and each will have to sync their library to Kodi. Then, you will switch between Kodi profiles (which represent each Emby user you want on the device). For playback, I am not sure without more information like did you select Addon playback or Native?
