allenarissa 3 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Hello, Since the last update 3.2.26.0, the dashboard kept displaying that an update was installed to restart server to apply change. I restarted the server and still came up. I then tried to manually install by downloading the .zip. I then expanded the .zip in a temporary folder and ran the setup. I went thru the prompts and finished. Then I did a restore and emby started rescanning my library. That took about 20 hours and everything looked ok. Yesterday I went to the dashboard and noticed that the version is 3.2.24.0 again.
Solution Luke 42080 Posted July 28, 2017 Solution Posted July 28, 2017 Hi, assuming you're on windows, please try installing again from the website, using the normal installer. thanks ! 1
allenarissa 3 Posted July 29, 2017 Author Posted July 29, 2017 Thank you very much. I ran it and so far so good.
allenarissa 3 Posted July 29, 2017 Author Posted July 29, 2017 Hi Guys, My Emby server stopped and I can't restart it now. I rebooted the computer and tried again and after about 5 mins, it told me application not working please reinstall again. I ran setup and it's just sitting saying downloading Emby server (version 3.2.26.0)... for about 10 mins now. Will it be save if I uninstall Emby, delete the install folder, reinstall and restore from backup? What will I loose if I do that? I just don't know what else to do.
Luke 42080 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Why don't you instead just provide the emby server log. you can learn how to do that here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks.
allenarissa 3 Posted July 30, 2017 Author Posted July 30, 2017 I am so sorry, yesterday when I posted the question, I didn't realize that my firewall was preventing the setup from installing. Everything is back to normal now. Hopefully I don't have the same problem that I need to reinstall. Thanks for your help.
