Chromecast Live TV

So the Chrome browser has a Google Cast extension that you can use to cast your browser to a Chromecast device.    So I accessed live tv via mediabrowser server on my laptop and cast it to my chromecast.  It works, I get the live tv on chromecast, but it is a bit choppy. But this is the case with anything I cast from the browser like HBO Go.com.  Wondering if anyone else has tried this and what the results are.  The issue seems to be with either google cast or my connection.  Using the HBOGO app on my android phone and casting works great.  Hadn't seen any posts regarding anyone trying this, but I think it is a great feature to be able to cast live tv from the browser to the big screen.

Mines the same. Not sure that the tab mirroring for the chromecast is really up to the task for videos.

I have a similar issue in that when I try to cast from my laptop chrome browser the video stops and starts every intermittently between 5 secs- 3 mins.  Not sure if it may have something to do with my MB3 server transcoding folder residing on a faster SSD hard drive as apposed to the tempSwmc folder residing on a slower harddrive.  Or maybe some settings I haven't taken into consideration.

Get the Speed4cast app.... It will tell you what speed your Chromecast is actually pulling. I had the same problem... Chromecast has very sensitive WiFi apparently.

I would like to share my chromecast experience that fits fine to my wishes. 

 

I use a ubuntu Server as MB3 Server, connected to a DVBlink server that use my dreambox SD TV tuner for the live TV.

To cast my live MB3-liveTV i use a Android 5,5 inch QuadCore mobile phone. 

 

Zapping is to slow but is covert by the clear epg view selecting a Tv channel.

 

I think the dev did a good job, where also is a lot of work to do to chape the liveTV to ChromeCast
