strugglez 8 Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Hi there I don't know what is wrong, but I have started encoding my Audio to be 5.1 AAC CVBR 640Kbps but when playing back the media or viewing the info from within Emby it says it is 5.1 AAC 320 KBps. Am I missing something here as to why it shows as 320 Kbps as to 640 Kbps. Cheers.
Luke 42086 Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 That's what ffmpeg (via ffprobe) told us, so that's what we're displaying.
strugglez 8 Posted July 10, 2017 Author Posted July 10, 2017 Okay, so would you know the reasons as to why they mismatch substantially? is ffprobe an accurate read of the file or is my encoding actually at 640 Kbps? Would it be safe to ignore in other words. Cheers
Luke 42086 Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 i wouldn't worry about it. maybe one is peak and the other is average.
Guest asrequested Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 And just a note. Regardless of what is displayed in the details, if you are direct playing, it will bitstream whatever the file actually is.
