devon303 0 Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Subject says it all. Attempt to play local files from Emby Theater and it hung on start, nothing but the spinning wheel for minutes. Launching same video from Windows Explorer worked fine. Internet connection is fine. Not using an external player at this time. On a hunch, I went into the server -> Playback -> Disabled all trailers except "Include trailers from new and upcoming movies" and things reverted back to normal. Guessing issues with accessing certain online content? I'm running the latest 3.2.24.0 server and playing back from Emby Theater Premiere for Windows 2.8.1. Please let me know thoughts.
nwsurfer 0 Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 (edited) I've been having this issue for several weeks now. I end up having to close and re-open Emby Theater multiple times (3 times is usually the charm) in order to get movies to start playing. I do not have previews configured to play, so I don't think that is the issue. Running latest version of Server and Theater. Edit: just noticed I had about 30 mpv.exe processes running at the same time. looks like mpv.exe is not getting cleaned up on exit? Edited July 11, 2017 by nwsurfer

That *is* curious -- I just checked and I definitely do not have that problem. Running programs stated above on the same Windows 10 machine.

This has been reported several times. If you have trouble playing something. Force close it Theater, and then end task electron. Restart app. Some of us are having electron glitches. I'm sure they (electron developers) will fix it, at some point.

I already have a script that kills electron, just added a step to kill mpv.exe. I'm fine with the workarounds...wife not so much

Mopar_Mudder 14 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 I have the same spinning wheel but only with Blu-Ray folder rips, so I was assuming it is a folder rips problem as mkv seems fine.
