ET won't play nextpvr live tv

After the latest stable server update nextpvr live tv will not play just have a spiny circle. This seems to only occur on the htpc box as I have tried and other win10 pc and live tv streams fine, ET on htpc is 2.8.1. Also noticed that if madvr is enabled recorded tv only has black screen with audio

I have had a chance to do a little bit more troubleshooting and so far the issue is isolated to the htpc and E.T

 

I have downloaded and installed Mediaportal for the live TV component and this is working for win 10 client, xbox1 and also working on the local htpc using Microsoft edge browser but not with E.T for windows desktop, I have also tried 2 separate user accounts on the htpc both with the same symptoms. The symptoms are the same as with nextpvr where upon attempting to play live tv with E.T for windows desktop on the Emby server pc the  I just get the constant spinning circle. I have attached the logs from a fresh service restart and attempted to play 2 live tv channels using E.T for windows desktop

I haven't check but I read that direct play force has been removed, does this mean that nextpvr is back to original play method (transcoding)? I watched sport and picture looked crisp even with high speed movement.

Some one should do a live tv set and performance/usage comparison as it would save a lot of time. nextpvr seems to be the easiest setup which has an auto artwork fetcher built in (all be it only fetching 60% of tv tile images) and in my experience the best picture quality with reasonably easy channel icon adding and reasonable channel launch times.

It's not removed, it's actually always been that way in Theater. It's not feasible for us to personally test all of these live tv plugins, so therefore transcoding is often the best way to make it "just work". I can put up a test build in the mpv topic that will disable it for next pvr and we can see how that goes.
