Karnov 1 Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I've been pulling my hair out trying to get emby to match the special episodes for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. I have all of the Tachikomatic Days special episodes from season 1 and 2. Here is an example of how they are named in my folder structure: GHOST IN THE SHELL - STAND ALONE COMPLEX SEASON 00 (SPECIALS) "0x07 - Tachikomatic Days EP01" "0x08 - Tachikomatic Days EP02" "0x09 - Tachikomatic Days EP03" ... "0x34 - 2nd GIG Tachikomatic Days EP01" "0x35 - 2nd GIG Tachikomatic Days EP02" "0x36 - 2nd GIG Tachikomatic Days EP03" etc. These filenames correspond exactly to the episode names on thetvdb, and in fact the files were named by Sonarr when it scraped the info from thetvdb. Now for some reason I just could not get emby to see any of them as the correct episodes. The first six episodes (0x07 to 0x12) showed up as ghost in the shell movies. Well 0x01 to 0x06 on thetvdb are ghost in the shell movies, so for some reason emby was ignoring that the files were named starting with 0x07 to 0x12 and was labeling them as 0x01 to 0x06. I finally figured out what the problem is. See how the name of each episode ends with "EP01" or "EP02" etc? Well this bit of text at the end of the filename was overriding the 0x07 at the start of the filename. Once I renamed the files as, for example, "0x07 - Tachikomatic Days 01" (removed the EP) then did a metadata refresh the problem was solved. Yay! It took me days to figure out what the issue was, even though it is kinda obvious now. So although there is a workaround, I would consider this a bug. If not a bug then just very annoying behaviour! P.S. Thanks Emby team, I love Emby + Kodi and prefer it to Plex + Kodi any day of the week.
Luke 42086 Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I've tested and I can confirm this. Another possible workaround is this convention: S00E02 Title EP01.mkv
d00zah 149 Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I used an alternative naming & the same specials appear correctly for me...
Karnov 1 Posted June 27, 2017 Author Posted June 27, 2017 Thanks for the replies. I will just change to S00E01 style as a workaround.
