Siduction (stretch) emby server wont detect external hdd

wavin everyone, I just installed emby on my E6410 to use as a mobile media server. atm its connected via USB cause i dont have any ESATA cables, lol. I configured the permissions and have the directory and the files set under the emby user and group. but the emby server wont add the directory of /media/user/PlexMedia.

 

i have plex installed on my arch system, but theres no official repo for plex on debian, so i installed emby on the E6410. any tips on getting it to read the directory from the external USB HDD? the plexmedia/emby partition is ext4

it pops up a message that says error adding media path and to check if the path is valid and that the server has access, which i did give it access, lol
