JoshJers 0 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I have my movie collection organized by folders, which I can nicely view using the Emby client (for WMC). Folder structure looks something like this: Movies->Martian->2D Movies->Martian->3D .. Movies->Star Wars->Star Wars 4 Movies->Star Wars->Star Wars 5 Movies->Star Wars->Star Wars 6 Movies->Star Wars->Star Wars 7->2D Movies->Star Wars->Star Wars 7->3D I really appreciate that Emby lets me use the folder structure for browsing (I really like having 2D/3D versions of movies in a subfolder, even within a series of movies), but I was wondering if there's any way to attach any metadata to the intermediate folders (i.e. the folders "Martian" or "Star Wars 7" in the above). I know that folder.jpg/backdrop.jpg work fine, but I mean title information. The issue actually is that I would prefer, in the "Star Wars" folder view example, "Star Wars 7" actually be listed as "The Force Awakens" since 4, 5, and 6 all have their proper titles. Is there some .nfo or .xml file that I can throw into a folder to change its display name (or, alternately, sort name)? Is there any configuration setting that I need to change to be able to do so? Thanks!
One2Go 120 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I am doing the same and have a folder.xml file that provides that kind of text display. You have tags like Localtitle, Originaltitle and Sorttitle. 1
Solution Luke 42086 Posted June 19, 2017 Solution Posted June 19, 2017 You can use the Emby metadata editor to edit information for these folders. 1
JoshJers 0 Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 Thanks! I didn't even know that metadata editor was there (I haven't really poked through the server side of things that much), but now I've found it and edited the folders to be exactly the way I wanted. Really appreciate the help
