optional ffprobe

Would it be possible to implement a server setting to disable / enable the ffprobe of live tv streams, at the users discretion?

I think a client setting "force direct playback of live tv", that disables also the probing would be better. I know all my inhouse Android clients can direct play live tv just fine. But of course probing is needed for browsers or a remote session.

I would like to see a toggle for probing live tv. Apparently once you all stopped doing this emby miss-identifies live tv as requiring transcoding. I can gladly wait a few seconds for it to be identified properly and then my system to direct play live tv which for me offers far superior performance. 

 

As it is right now its a weird annoying confusing thing that watching live tv via emby theater app it transcodes, take that same program and record it ( and do literally nothing to it ) and play it back and it is direct play.

What tuner are you guys using that lets you direct play live TV?

Until very recently I was able to direct play from my he home run prime to my emby theater (store app)
