Rayger 14 Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Hello, I am having some trouble here. I just recently modified my network to be on a domain. Permissions are set up on the network shares, and every computer is logged on to the same user. I can see files okay through server shares over the network, using File Explorer. However, Emby Server cannot see the files at all. Now my library completely cleared out. Is there something that I am missing permissions-wise?
Logos302 86 Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 how are you running emby?, as a service? if your running it as a service the make sure that use have the service set to be running as a domain account. if not how do you have your library setup? UNC paths or Drive letters? And lastly were is emby server actually running? or the same server as the data or another system.
Rayger 14 Posted June 17, 2017 Author Posted June 17, 2017 Running as a service, logged into a domain account. Using UNC paths. Computer running Emby Server has some library data, another computer has the rest of the data. The system couldn't see data on either. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling Emby Server. It looks like it's working now. Now I just have to set everything up again....
Luke 42086 Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Try running it without the windows service, it will be much simpler. If you want to use the windows service, then you have to take into consideration the service account being used to run Emby with respect to credentials that are needed to access your network resources.
Rayger 14 Posted June 17, 2017 Author Posted June 17, 2017 I did try without the Windows service, but I still had the same issue. Oh well, uninstalling/resinstalling did the trick.
