Lower third timeout

Probably not, BUT, is there a way to change time it appears or even supress the lower third info bar that pops up when you start a video and or resume a video?

You mean the playback on screen display?  Hitting the back key will dismiss it immediately.

I take it there is no way to alter the amount of time it appears on screen if you was to leave it run its course? Not a prob if you can't.

 

Its only for home videos which I've started moving across. A lot of them have titles in that area and the popup obscures them.

No, sorry, there is no setting for the timeout - just the manual dismissal.
