Roku slide out options when pressing *

When on the home screen if you press * to get to settings the roku options slide out comes up also (with control). Same thing happens if you are in all shows or all movies.

What is on this menu?  It must be new.

It's the same menu used to control closed captions, but as I just checked it's not happening anymore.
