@chefOk, I've stopped the task. Turned on debug, rotated the log, restarted Emby, started Fingerprinting again. Left it running for 4 minutes, then attached the log here

Hi Kaj,

there are a lot of unauthorised access errors in the log to file paths, wondering if this is the issue.

probably not, it doesn’t look like any errors are from Introskip. Have you got thumbnail images showing in the UI? As it seems to be requesting a lot of them.

Everything thumbnail-wise working perfectly, missing none. Maybe it's my client (Edge Dev with many security extensions?). I can try again using the Emby Theatre app?

where should the database be created? As I can't find that all all.

@kaj I'm sorry, I'm pretty sure that log is the same one you posted prior.

The time stamps on both logs start at 9:51:06

Are you certain that that is the latest log file generated with debug enabled?

Thanks for taking the time :)

You are correct, sorry about that

I've attached the correct ones now, so 17 is the one I should have attached above, and 18 is one from just now

And I found the database

@Cheesegeezer, @rbjtech, @CBers,

I see two things in @kaj 's log that is strange. One has to do with Intro skip... 😀

This:

2021-10-13 12:01:44.202 Debug Intro Skip: Season 8 - S: - E:: Extracting chunks from binary chroma-print.
2021-10-13 12:01:44.204 Debug Intro Skip: Season 8 - S: - E:: .bin file removed.

It doesn't have a name, but it is obviously a media file, it lives in the episodes library, and it does get fingerprinted.

It has to be an episode, otherwise we wouldn't get it as a result in our query, but it's nameless.

I don't know what it is.  Any thoughts?

Here's the thing, I don't think it is going to cause issues during detection, and fingerprint, because we request data and then filter matches by ID.

So if these items have  ID's, then and entry in the database will get created, but they will not have a name... I don't think it will  break anything.

----------------------

Side note for kaj: Are you aware that there is a failing Sync job happening over and over again on your server? If I only saw it once, I wouldn't bring it up, but... it is happening a lot... in both the logs you have shared. It might not mean anything, but if you are running a NAS, it might be using your precious resources and go unnoticed.

Just thought I'd bring it up. You have a folder permission issue, and the folder sync can't complete, so it tries and fails... and then again.... and then again.... you get it. 😆

How is the task running now?

Did it finish?

Thanks for looking into this.

What is failing on the sync side? Is this it:

Data path: /var/packages/EmbyServer/var
    Application path: /volume1/@appstore/EmbyServer/system
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path is denied.

I did upgrade to DSM 7 and had problems that @cayars helped me with.

Task is running really slowly, just like the first time, so only up to 1.2% right now.

The weird Season 8 I think is from a very old folder with Game of Thrones from way before my Emby days...

I don't quite understand why it is Fingerprinting the library again. That has me stumped.

Would you be able to tell me the size of the titleSequence.db file?

If you don't mind letting it run until it is complete, When it finishes you could post a log again.

It might not be until tomorrow morning. In that case, the log will save and there will be a new log create in the early hours of the morning.

Perhaps, we can look at both of them, to really get an idea as to why it ran twice.

If that's cool with you?

Yup, no probs, I'll leave it running until it's finished.

Good morning @kaj

Just wondering if the task completed, and if the file size grew for the data base file at all?

if the data base file isn't too large, would you consider PM'ing me the file.

If it is absolutely huge, then we'll have to sort out some other ways to double check results, and figure out what might be happening.

Would love to see some logs in any case, if you have time today.

thank you again for taking the time!

Morning Chef... (or rather it's 11.30pm here :) )

It's going even more slowly than before...only at 16.6% right now

File size has remained exactly the same:

The file size maintaining is actually a good thing. Db files don't change size untill we tell them to.

Can I see a log again?

11:30pm, you are on the other side of the planet. 👍 Awesome!

Hey kaj.

To be honest, if you hadn't told me that the task is re-printing items in your library, I would look at the log and see that the scan (although long running -  which is expected) is running well.

If you are okay with letting it continue,

I have a feeling that because we are using the Task  Parallel Library (which is randomly moving through the library),  items that are currently being fingerprinted, just haven't been scanned before (even though we saw the fingerprinting scan  'complete' before.)

I believe that eventually you'll see the task jump to 99%, as it moves through items we have already scanned.

Only thing to do now is be patient, and see how it does.

So I thought I'd share some of my screen shots of the plugin doing its job well. It's very exciting! And I'm hopeful to see some results from the community like this.

Green is for episodes where you have confirmed the intro, and yellow is yet to be confirmed.

Morning @chef Update: Only at 42.5% this morning

For me so far so good, everything is looking good.

Fingerprinting: Completed at 100%

Title Sequence Detection: Is now at 86%

Chapter Insertion: Failed the last time but will see if it works with the new plugin.

No orange or green colors for me. Maybe all 3 scans need to finish?

I might sound like a broken record but thanks again everyone this is great!

Hmm...

If you go into advanced settings, and set the concurrent fingerprint value up to 4.

Then stop the task, and start it again.

We should see it jump to 42.5%.

Then continue at a faster rate.

Would you mind trying that?
