The Wiki is a little rushed (I'll update when I get time) - but if you want to use the new features have look at the link below :-

Import ...

I've never enabled chapter creation, I assume I can skip the Refresh Metadata step?

Will it eventually be set up so there won't be visible chapter points in the timeline? What's the reason a refresh is required to change anything?

I've held off making all the edits I needed to make, now I wish I hadn't...

so, the db is compatibles then?

cause i had no errors, and it ran normally.

edit: im not on emby premiere.

If you are not on Premier, then you will not be able to see/use the manual button - the same requirements as the Core.

I've just updated the Wiki to explain why - hit F5 .. ;)

Well you should write it in a way that makes it easier to find things, because I can't see it. 😛

So there's no option in the plugin for "when added" or "on a schedule", it's just automatically "when added"?

rbjtech

It follows what you had set in the Plugin Advanced settings previously.

ie Scheduled and/or as New Episode are added.

Nothing has changed in that regard - it now just adds the required markers as part of the previous process.

Ah, I missed those settings, although I only see a toggle for "when added" rather than anything for a schedule?

In the Scheduled Tasks perhaps .. ;)

Do I need a certain version of Emby? I've restarted three times now, no sign of it.

yes the minimum version is set to latest emby release, because of code in the core that is required

4.7.0.60

Hei guys,

Just tested and it is working fine with the skip button.

That is really nice, the skip button was important for me and personally I prefer the plugin then the core implementation (for now 😄).

Thanks for the great work!

Ok I read the wiki but just to be sure (You will probably repeat what you have already said)
The plugin allows now: to detect intros, to display the intro skip button/auto skip intro, to edit markers ?

Have there been any improvements in detection?

Thank you for your work!

  1. detect intros and place chapter markers(if enabled)
  2. detect end credits and place chapter markers (if enabled)
  3. It can autoskip intro and end credits without the need of a button
  4. It has a UI that enables the user to edit the start and end times for intros and also the end credit start times
  5. has buttons ONLY for intro skip NOT end credits (if autoskip is not enabled) - this only works on clients that have had the new core code (4.7.0.32 minimum) updated on them

Thank you for your answer it is very clear! :)

So for now the plugin is way ahead of the Emby core.

So I need to update to a version that's incompatible with the plugin in order to get the compatible plugin?

When the guys placed the plugin in the catalog it was set to show with a minimum release version which is higher then the version of emby you currently have installed.

Try updating emby, and it should show up.

That might not necessarily be the case.

They are two separate entities with the same objective.

The plugin has an editor, but it works around what the core implements.

Below is the ideal config in Auto-Skip if you want the manual button for Intro's but still want to auto-skip to the next episode :)

@chefmade it super configurable and now we can use it to get this flexible behaviour !

If and when the Core get Credit Markers working, then I expect a lot of users will want the 'Next Episode' OSD pop up - and they can then click the button as they do now, but this time it'll be at the correct time ... ;)

In the past, plug -in scanning occupied very high resources.

The host of my host collapsed. I have to restrict the core of EMBY alone.🤣
Is it improved now or in the future?
The core scan will not be so high.

Just tested, the scan occupation is still high.😆

Yes, I'm referring to the features in addition to the intro detection.
At the moment Emby offers the button or the automatic skip of the intro.

The marker editor is an advantage that will be filled later by emby. :)

Try setting the parallelism in the plugin to 1 (no parallelism..) - that should limit CPU and disk resources to the minimum.

The Credit detection uses ffmpeg Black Frame Detection however - and that will use as many threads and CPU power as it can find 😮 - we have no way of easily limiting that unfortunately, it's an ffmpeg limitation.

Alternatively, the Introskip Core may be a better option for you - as that currently just does Intro Detection and is, as I understand it, lighter on the CPU and disk as it is doing less overall work  - but it won't have all the features in the Introskip Plugin - such as editing and credit detection, nor can it detect Intro's over 10 minutes into the episode for example.
