Client side deinterlacing

Hi,

 

Can the emby theatre client do client side deinterlacing for Live TV, like using hardware (DXVA etc.) in the same way that WMC, Kodi etc does?

 

Seem's like using ffmpeg to transcode, just to deinterlace should be avoided where possible.

I believe that server side deinterlacing in only used when the client does not support deinterlacing on the player side. If I recall correctly the new ET must has deinterlace set to "Yes" and not "Auto".

Yes it can, just enable it under app video settings.

For the desktop app yes, not the store app. But for the store app you can install the Microsoft mpeg2 extension. See our recent blog announcement about that.

I'm using the standard desktop Emby Theatre on Windows 7.

 

I've just opened it and feel a little stupid... I cannot find any settings anywhere :-/
