swehawk 7 Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Tried to Update from -12 to -19 yesterday. Since I run EmbyServer as a service and have it installed on C:\SRV\Emby I upgrade manually from zip-file. This normally works fine, but this time the Emby service starts, then immidiately stops again. The server is Windows 10. Creators update is not applied. I rolled back the System-folder to the previous version to get Emby back in business. Since I'm not at home right now I can't offer more details, but I can get back with logs etc in the weekend!
Solution ebr 16172 Posted June 9, 2017 Solution Posted June 9, 2017 Make sure you install the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable x64 version. 1
Luke 42077 Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 @@swehawk, just start the server using the tray icon and it will prompt you to install whatever is needed. We recommend starting up that way once after every update.
swehawk 7 Posted June 9, 2017 Author Posted June 9, 2017 @ ebr: Spot on! Thanks a lot @ Luke: Can't do because I have no tray icon Guess that's due to the zip-installation !?
Luke 42077 Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 You do have a tray icon. You can just run the server exe from inside the unzipped folder.
