lajtof 0 Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 (edited) Hi, I'm using Emby Server 3.2.19.0 on my XPEnology NAS (DSM 6.1.1-update 4) and watching my tv shows using web app on my Windows 10 desktop. I often watch with polish subtitles downloaded from OpenSubtitles (using SickRage), but MPL2 format of these doesn't show up in Emby web player, they are available from the menu but when I select them they don't work. In MPC-HC or VLC they work just fine. SubRip subtitles work good though. I attached 2 subtitles formats below. The polish version (MPL2) doesn't work, when the english one (SubRip) does. If any other information is needed, please tell me. Edit: Added server log (line 2620 says 'Unrecognized line in srt') Prison Break S05E01.en.srt Prison Break S05E01.pl.srt server-63632303999.txt.txt Edited June 6, 2017 by lajtof
Luke 42077 Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Yea I can see why. We have not implemented this format yet. We can look at it for a future update. For now the workaround is using regular srt. Thanks !
lajtof 0 Posted June 6, 2017 Author Posted June 6, 2017 Thanks, it would be awesome to see the support in next update, because Plex for instance can use this format in their web app
cirrusmedia 1 Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 What would be great is to have the ability to toggle subtitles on and off as needed in the web playback interface. I find that I can either have the subtitles displayed, or I have to go into the server management page and disable the subtitles all together. Is this a feature that you are planning? Cheers.

cirrusmedia 1 Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Thanks! Problem solved! Never noticed the icon .
cirrusmedia 1 Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I was trying to add a subtitle file. I embedded it into the mkv container however the CC icon did not show up. On other movies the icon it does show up, not sure why that is. Maybe the merge was not an exact match? Anyway, now I know how to toggle the subtitles on / off if they are present. Maybe if I just place the subtitle file in the same folder as the movie and do not attempt to perform a merge it may work better. It is a work in progress as I have started using Emby and am learning as I go. I do have to say that I much prefer it to Plex as I have yet to have any movies freeze and unable up due to network issues as was happening with Plex. Thanks for your help.

We use ffmpeg to convert the subtitles to a compatible format, so it just depends on whether it accepts this or not.
