hi,

I am testing emby for several days now.

Its installed on a Ubuntu server in my local network.

So far everything works fine when i use PC for viewing.

Yesterday i wanted to test the DLNA function and my Toshiba TV sees the server, i can browse the directories and see the movies and music files.

when i select one file to play, i get the message from my tv "file not supported". I tried MP3, MP4, MKV,AVI.and this is very strange.

When i choose these files on my android tablett all works fine. when i connect the harddisk with he movies direct to the TV i can play all files

The directories have all read access.

When i play a Movie on my android tablett and choose to connect to TV, so he should play it there, he makes connection to the tv and a message on the tv appears " another mediaplayer wants to play (or somehing like that). The screen turns black from the TV and a message appears, waiting for commands. When i select play, the message disappears, but after a while it comes again and nothing happens, so both options do not work for me.

What could this be?

thx....

hmmmm no one has an idea?

I would think that the server is supposed to transcode incompatible formats based upon the detected DLNA profile. Have you checked the server log to see what profile is being used? If the incorrect profile is being used, even formats that should play natively may not play.

We don't actually have a profile for Toshiba and that is probably the issue. We are probably sending incompatible formats. Have you researched the supported formats of your TV?

Best thing to do is provide the information requested in how to report a media playing issue:

Thanks !
