adam1010 19 Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Is there currently an option to have the server/API use an anti-spoiler description on un-watched episodes and movies? Ideally for each Emby user there would be an option called "Hide plot for unwatched items" that could be enabled. Then for unwatched episodes/movies the you would just dummy text for the description/plot, such as "Hidden to prevent spoilers" 5
adam1010 19 Posted June 10, 2017 Author Posted June 10, 2017 @@Luke Cool. What's the next step to get it on the dev roadmap?
Luke 42077 Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 I think it's a good idea. Right now we are monitoring community feedback for it relative to other requests. Thanks !
adam1010 19 Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 This ever get put on the roadmap? I got a plot spoiled today by this and remembered I had requested a fix a while back. Just need a toggle switch on the server to have it substitute that fixed message in for the plot summary. If it's a lot easier I'm fine with disabling ALL plots, both for watched and unwatched. I'd prefer that over the current scenario. Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 It's something we're interested in for the future.

pomm 1 Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 Was this feature, or anything similar, ever implemented? Hoping to hide thumbnails and plot for unwatched episodes.

pomm 1 Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Thanks for the update. In the absence of this feature, is there a way to apply custom thumbnails to episodes?

Luke 42077 Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 Hi, this will be in the 4.9 server release for the web app, and will be in the next update to many of our apps. It will come in the form of a user setting: And then you will screens like this: Of course it is not guaranteed to be applied everywhere, particularly when it comes to screens that are more intended for media management purposes than viewing. Enjoy.
