davedick 19 Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 I've been using another application along with Emby in WMC. A couple days ago, I noticed that in the other app, there was a few shows, it didn't have enough information to breakout with episode in to Seasons & Episodes. Later I found out that TheTvDb has been having an API issue. https://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=37586 My question is how does Emby handle something like this, when it either gets back an error or not enough information to separate a show into Season/Episode & or even download Art/Background? While the shows are named in the "Show Name - S03E05" type of format, I'm trying to determine If I keep adding shows to the Emby TV show watched folder & it cannot bring back any information, will Emby keep trying to bring back correct information, or if I would need to move the files out & then move it back in, so it can add in the correct information? Overall I'm trying to avoid adding new shows, if I'm going to either need to manually update anything or move the files out of the watched folder & move it back Thanks
Luke 42083 Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 hi @@davedick, first we need to verify that you're actually experiencing tvdb api errors. The next time this happens, please capture the emby server log. You can learn how to do that here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ As far as how the server recovers from this, we do have alternative metadata providers that you can enable, although doing so will cause library scans to take longer so please keep that in mind. Thanks.
davedick 19 Posted May 29, 2017 Author Posted May 29, 2017 Actually I haven't had any issues, as I haven't added any media before this problem started happening. My question was more along the lines on how Emby handled the issue when it came up
