Netbug 26 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I got notification on TeamViewer that my HTPC was running low on disk space. Normally the SSD system drive only uses about 22GB of the available 240GB. After a little digging, it was the location C:\Users\Drew\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\sync which is filling up with massive files like "becc07ee33654d97a021c641fe6352f4.mp4" in folders with equally massive hex names. So three questions: 1. What is the sync folder? 2. Do I need to use it? 3. How do I limit it's capacity or disable it? Thanks.
Sven 136 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Did you start some sync to another device? Do you want to view it offline on any device? The sync folder is used to sync stuff to other devices... You don't need to use it... 1

The sync folder is used to sync stuff to other devices... You don't need to use it... I don't recall doing so, as this is my local machine. Is there a way to view sync'd content? And to stop it from syncing, because the folder has started to fill again. :/
Sven 136 Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Do you see something in your Dashboard menu "Sync" (Administration dashboard). http://localhost:8096/web/syncactivity.html --> Change localhost to the right host ans also the portnumber Is any sync job busy?
Netbug 26 Posted May 24, 2017 Author Posted May 24, 2017 There were some, yes. I have killed those processes now. I guess someone must have hit sync accidentally and that triggered them. I just never noticed. Thank you for clearing it up.
