Music Does Not Play Also No Artwork Shown For Music

I have started to use the android app in my Samsung S7E. When i attempt to play any music nothing happens, when i try to play an album it just skips every track until it gets to the end. Another issue is there is no artwork displayed in the music folders, i also get this on Theatre all i see is coloured squares.

Many thanks for your help Luke. I have my entire nas drive as a shared drive and all my files can be accessed from the pc that the server is installed on, i dont have any problem playing other files like my movies. I have put my music into a shared music folder on my nas and now its playing fine on my pc and my phone, why i had to do this for my music i dont know, artwork is displaying fine too.
