DrJekle 4 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I've been having an issue the past few days where during movie playback the movie will cut out or freeze. When this happens I have to go to task manager and force shutdown ET and i notice 3 instances of electron running. Once I force shutdown all the instances I can start the movie playing again, but it will be further along in time from where the playback cutout or froze. When I open the server it still shows the movie playing even though in ET it is not. The ET log files from what I can tell do not show anything as the it still thinks it's playing. I can attach later as I'm at work but didn't know if anyone else had similar issues.

DrJekle 4 Posted May 25, 2017 Author Posted May 25, 2017 HW acceleration: none All scaling methods set to auto and I have openGL unchecked I have had different iterations of all the options as I thought maybe I had things set too high for my system, but still no luck

DrJekle 4 Posted May 26, 2017 Author Posted May 26, 2017 All my movie files are in mt2s format. Sometimes it acts up and sometimes it doesn't. Live TV playback is buggy sometimes as well. File playback never froze while madVR was an option for comparison but I do not believe that is the culprit.
Logos302 86 Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 (edited) I'm having the same sorta issues with files that are not mt2s files. As far as I can tell it's how I've got the acceleration, if I change it to none (And all the other bells a whistles are turned off) I don't get the freezing, as often. I have an older AMD APU that I can't really upgrade the drivers on so I'm thinking that probably my issue. Or maybe not, MadVR did not have any issues like this. Edited May 26, 2017 by Logos302

Logos302 86 Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 ok I was wrong. I just had it freeze. The odd thing is that it freezes and then plays the intro/trailer of the tv show I'm watching. And I know it's not the file as I just played a file that I'd previously watched. It's almost like what was happening to the xbox has now started happening on the desktop version.

Which is good. Course I with it didn't happen at all. hmm, just found out that the server was using 5gig of memory and it wan't doing anything. I'm wounder if this is caused by something else. As I was having problem even connected the emby server with ET reboot the server (now it using 3gb memory) and now I can connect again. Edited May 27, 2017 by Logos302
DrJekle 4 Posted May 27, 2017 Author Posted May 27, 2017 Mine has been the same way. plays for x amount of minutes than ET needs to be restarted and I resume the movie I was playing and after another x amount of minutes I repeat the cycle.
DrJekle 4 Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 So far with the latest update 2.7.8 I have not experienced the movie playback stopping. Not sure if the update fixed the issue but I'll continue to monitor.
DrJekle 4 Posted June 5, 2017 Author Posted June 5, 2017 Well back to this being an issue. Video playback stopped and froze about every 25 mins. Started playback in the WebOS and everything works.
