opsoyo 0 Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 (edited) Hey everyone, I've been looking into using Google Drive to store multiple qualities of various videos in my library, but I'm not seeing where the documentation talks about the file type which the versions are stored as. I would like an encrypted backup with the Google Drive sync, like HLS with the decryption information sent directly to clients instead of being stored on the cloud servers. Many thanks! --- Since the documentation doesn't seem to specify, I'll clarify here that at the time of this post the Google Drive sync option does not have an encryption feature. I would not recommend using this feature for those concerned with privacy, as it will merely store the various qualities for Google to process. I'm not sure how much of programming challenge it would be with Emby's current evolution, but it would be nice to see as I described above. HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) is the only protocol I was able to find that offers at least AES-128 support built-in, but there may be a better way that would fall under an Emby standard. It could be relatively easy to add an encryption option to the current Google Drive sync strategy. A major requirement of this, beyond the encryption implementation, would be that information like the filename would need to be stored with the server and not Google Drive.
