OT - Android TV is getting a new launcher with Android O

I personally use Emby, Netflix, Amazon, Spotify, and Youtube on my Shield TV. I have the recommendations on the homescreen disabled for all of those apps and I find it is of no value to me. I have my apps row sorted to have those 5 apps at the beginning  of the list for easy access. All of the new features in the new layout have zero appeal to me.

I quite like it now, it's as little or as much as you want on your home screen.

Aesthetically, I agree with you but the functionality is greatly improved.

The background gradients they use look awful.  I wish they would go back to a plain textured black background over the weird orange-red gradient I see sometimes.
