Davide 9 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 I've created a second library for a second user, this contains links to some files in the first library. Structure of my folders: Movie <-- Contains all the movies, visible only by User1 /Title 1/file1.ext /Title 2/file2.ext /Title 3/file3.ext ... Movie 2 <-- Movies visible by User2 /Title 2/file2.ext <-- Folder linked to Movie/Title 2/file2.ext (So User2 can only see "Title 2") By doing a scan, however, the "Movie 2" library is empty. Emby does not recognize the links? I would not like to copy the files, to avoid taking more space
ebr 16199 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Use junction points instead. Or, you can use physical organization to accomplish it (three folders - one for user 1 one for user 2 one shared by both). 1
Davide 9 Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 Linked in what way? Right-click, new, shortcut ... and choose the original folder Use junction points instead. How?
ebr 16199 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 https://www.google.com/search?q=junction+point+windows+10&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS694US694&oq=junction+point&aqs=chrome.3.69i57j0l5.10063j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 I actually recommend the physical organization approach though.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Right-click, new, shortcut ... and choose the original folder How? Use the MKLINK command. https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/ appears to have an overview.
Davide 9 Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 I solved by installing "Link Shell Extension", thanks Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk
