Crestj 68 Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 After a fresh server install I restored all the users and config (restored everything using the plugin) and everything seems to have worked apart from the watched states for all my movies and tv! Log attached. Emby V3.2.16.0 I have the old server available and tried a fresh backup and restore but the watched state just don't appear. HELP! Log.txt
Luke 42085 Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Can you show a screenshot of what you are trying to do? Why do you feel that they're not working? thanks.
Crestj 68 Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 (edited) After emby restarts I go into my account and select tv shows. All tv shows show unmatched with the number of unwatched episodes in the corner of the image. Edited May 12, 2017 by Crestj
Luke 42085 Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 I meant screenshot of the restore process. thanks.
Crestj 68 Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 I deselect everything but this option as all other users and config are working.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Did you restore the user Tony.and.Racheal or recreate it? Don't you have to restore the users and play status together?
Crestj 68 Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 To be honest I tried both. No joy with either.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 (edited) What browser? Might be a browser issue again. Edited May 12, 2017 by Happy2Play
Crestj 68 Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 I've now tried creating the user + play states together and also created the user then restore the play states separately but still nothing. I've tried Chrome and IE. It's almost like the play states are not being backed up. Is there a log for the restore plugin as I can't see any errors relating to this in the server logs?
Luke 42085 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Unfortunately this could be one of those rare cases where a metadata change has caused a user data change. the process of importing the library into the new server may have caused new metadata to be obtained, and now you have imdb or movie db id's that weren't on the old server. Example: for movies, your user data is keyed from the movie db id. if it's not there, then it's keyed on imdb id. So perhaps on your old server you had a movie that only had an imdb id, so that's what the user data was keyed against. Now on the new server, you have both filled in so the server is trying to use movie db. If you think this scenario is something that could have happened, then you can test the theory by removing the movie db id from a movie. then see if your watch data shows up for that movie.
Crestj 68 Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 Unfortunately I have had to remove all the video files from my old server as I needed the drives to use in the new server. I now realise that a library scan has probably run on the old server so any backup I now take from there will not contain the correct play states (I assume due to there being no media). TBH I'm not that fussed about movie play states as there was only a few I had not seen but the tv play states, with the hundreds of series/episodes, is a daunting task.
Crestj 68 Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 (edited) OK I've resigned myself to the fact that my play states are lost so to that effect: what's the quickest way to mark hundreds of movies as watched? Maybe mark the entire library watched and "unwatch" those few I need to? I also have a Home Video library which is spread into year and month folders so going into each folder (in the Emby web GUI) and marking watched would take a long time. EDIT: Sorry, I missed this thread with the info to do this: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/34469-how-do-i-mark-all-movies-in-a-new-library-as-watched/?hl=%2Bmarking+%2Blibrary+%2Bwatched&do=findComment&comment=326985 Edited May 13, 2017 by Crestj
