I am an Emby paid supporter.  I've spent many hours working with the Emby server and apps to try to make it a somewhat stable system to stream movies around the house.  I have spent thousands of dollars on building this system which is still isn't wife-approved
and it's getting really frustrating.

I have a dedicated Windows 10 server with an Intel i7-2600 CPU, 3.4 GHz with 16 GB of RAM running Emby 3.2.15.
I have a direct Gigabit Ethernet link from the server to the latest generation Amazon Fire TV with the latest version of the Emby app.

I have no problems streaming anything from Amazon Prime, Netflix or any other streaming apps.

Emby is the only thing causing me grief.

If I bring up the system and the Amazon Fire app, I usually have no problems and everything streams great for most of a movie.  No transcoding is required.
I am getting Direct Play for everything.
If I stop and try to bring up something else or try to move around within the movie, Emby hangs and the only way I can get it to go again is to kill the Amazon Fire app and restart.  Often even that isn't enough.  I frequently have to restart Emby.  Then it runs fine again.  I've tested this also with a Roku 3 and the Windows Chrome web interface with the same results.  I also checked to make sure no other background processes are running.  I can rarely get through a single movie without stuttering and often it just hangs until I restart the server.  I would really like to watch one movie all the way through without issues.

Emby has been a complete failure for me.  I am willing to spend as much time as needed and send you whatever logs you need, but this must be fixed.  It isn't a network problem and I doubt it is a server problem.  It's an Emby problem.  I know I cannot be the only one here.

Please let me know how we can work together to make Emby usable.

Thanks.

Ive had the same thing on the Fire Tv app a couple times. If I exit the app and go back in I just get a black screen and I have to force close the app. Its only happened a couple times and its also happened on Plex. I dont have any insight but if thats what you're seeing, you arent alone.
