wallaceff 3 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Hi, I've been using Media Center since XP days, and MB since waaay back. MB3 is progressing rapidly and I'm loving all the updates, well done. I'm also using an plugs in Recorded TV HD (http://www.recordedtvhd.com/) which is pretty awesome. The feature I love the most about it, is that it grabs the season/episode title from TheTVDB.com based on the metadata from the .wtv file and organises it beautifully. Given that I feel I will likely be moving away from 7MC if MB3 continues so well, I'm wondering if there is any thoughts or way that MB could integrate this type of feature. Basically, the user can specify a folder with .wtv files, all in 1 directory, and MB will scrape through, and using thetvdb will organise it into seasons/episodes (without having to rename the files). This could then be integrated with files in other formats (eg. you may have archived the .wtv file into an avi file and placed it in another directory, and these would automagically still appear under the same Series/season/episode? Not sure if I made it clear, but if you look at RecordedTVHD, you may have a better understanding of what I'm asking for... any thoughts?
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 MediaBrowser Server will have an Auto-Organize feature in the near future that will allow you to do this. You'll specify a watch folder and have the ability to move and rename the files as necessary.

MCEBuddy can scrape metadata from tvdb and rename files to MB3 TV Series supported file names. I prefer remuxing wtv files to unprocessed ts format, rename the file, then move it to MB3 TV Series watched folders. I can then watch the tv shows using MPC-HC with madvr. MCEBuddy has a remote client, could possibly be a MB3 plugin.
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Yes... I don't believe it will remux them automatically though.
ebr 16169 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I don't believe the auto organize feature can interrogate wtv metadata to determine a show. I think it needs to be able to decipher a file name in order to do that. Also, it will move these items to a different location which is a bit different than what you were requesting (being able to read them in-place).
sprtfan 3 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Just to be sure I understand this, I can have a folder on my HTPC where all recorded shows go into. At some point in the future, MB3 will be able to move the recorded file to a different location like my server? I used to use Windows Home Server 2011 and have moved to Server 2012 R2. The main thing I miss about WHS2011 is that it was able to move all of my files to my server but still have them displayed in the recorded tv section. Sounds like MB3 maybe able to do this for me in the future and have the shows show up in a folder in MediaBrowser Classic? Thanks
